A Confidential Talk (a scene from Cami's backstory, written back in 2014)
420's backstory (Cami gets a cameo or two in this), Like A Kite Without A String (she's... vaguely referenced in this one, idk, probably worth a mention)
(Written desc to come eventually; notes for now)
- Very girly, somewhat easily excited. Despite this, she tends to be fairly mature and level-headed. Extremely optimistic, almost to a fault; she tries very, very hard to see the good in everyone, and can come off as somewhat naive because of this. Stays out of arguments if they don't concern her, dislikes conflict. Doesn't judge people by what she's heard about them, or she tries not to, anyway. (i.e. Cami has had.. very little interaction with Kaboom, if any. Giggles and Allie - who are Cami's friends, she trusts them/their judgement completely, etc - have both told her that Kaboom is a jerk, etc, and her limited interaction with Kaboom supports this. But still, Cami continues to believe that she *must* be nice, deep down, and her relationship with Giggles must simply be typical sibling rivalry [which it is somewhat, but not necessarily in the way that Cami thinks it is].)
- Waitress.
- Allie's (older) cousin; their mothers are sisters. Cami's parents worked long hours (and probably still do? idk), so she often stayed with her aunt/uncle (Allie's parents) when she was little. (Cami's parents are very nice people in general, and she was/is very close to them; they just weren't always around. She doesn't resent them for this, btw.) As a result, Cami and Allie are very, VERY close, more like sisters than cousins. She's slightly protective of Allie, but not as much as she was when they were younger (since they were together a lot as kids, and Cami was older, she felt responsible for Allie, and looked out for her a lot; since they're adults now, obviously Allie can look out for herself these days).
- She's pretty good friends with Giggles, too; they've known each other since they were kids (Cami met Giggles shortly after Allie did). Cami does like Giggles, but she's more Allie's friend than Cami's. (it's not really a one-sided friendship - it IS a mutual relationship, it's just one of those relationships where one person is... not more invested in the relationship, exactly, but there's a bit more enthusiasm about it on Giggles' side than Cami's, if that makes sense? It's difficult to explain)
- She grew up in Telluria, but moved to Felicitas City soon after she graduated high school (she went to college in Felicitas, and liked the city enough to want to live there permanently).
- When they were still in high school, Giggles set up Cami and Chuckles on a date. Cami only went along with it to be polite - she believes that love happens when it happens, and it can't be 'forced' or set up. (Also, she wasn't really interested in dating back then *anyway*.) She was worried that if she turned him down right away, he'd assume that she disliked him or something. She didn't want to hurt his feelings. She vaguely knew him from school (they're the same age), but they'd never really talked or anything. The date was very awkward for both of them, and Cami has avoided Chuckles ever since because of that. Even though it was years ago, and it wasn't even really a bad date, she's still worried that he dislikes her because of their failed date, or something.
- She's interested in dating *in general*, and she would like a boyfriend; she's just doesn't see it as a priority. If she meets someone nice, that's great; if she doesn't, oh well.
- As I said before, Cami tries very, very, very hard to be nice to everyone, to see the best in them, etc. Which sounds nice, and she is nice (she is genuinely a nice person, she isn't doing this to make her feel better about herself or whatever), but she tries way too hard to be like this, to the point where it's almost as much of a flaw as it is a merit. It's sort of a naive point of view that she has, because she's always "well I'm sure they had a good reason for doing this..". She's not quite a "bleeding heart" - nor is she perfect. She DOES get negative thoughts about people - she just tries to suppress them, and/or not express them. But because of this, she can worry too much, like "ohhh I treated that person badly.. they probably hate me, I messed up..." when she didn't do anything particularly wrong (see also, how she feels towards Chuckles). It's not that she wants everyone to love her or anything like that, more that she worries about giving people the wrong impression, or something. So she can be a little neutoric sometimes. It's naive in the sense that she's somewhat too optimistic at times, and she could probably get herself in trouble from trying to give people the benefit of the doubt all the time. (It's difficult to explain X_X)
- as mentioned before, she barely knows Kaboom - she's heard about her, more than she's actually interacted with her. She's aware of 420's existence, but the most interaction they've ever had (if you can even call it that) is Cami leaving him a note when she helped Giggles and Allie move to Felicitas. (Giggles wouldn't do it, and Cami felt someone should. She knows things are kind of awkward between Giggles and her siblings, but she doesn't see it as her place to interfere; it's none of her business)
- Likes soft, pastel colours, but she also likes bright neons. Loves 80s stuff.
