- Apprentice witch. Not terribly good with magic, screws up a lot, but she's very enthusiastic about it all.
- Cute Clumsy Girl, somewhat naive.
- Her mentor is Tracy, and she looks up to her a lot (idolizes her).
- Her dad died somewhat recently; as Hazuki has no other relatives to live with, nor any money, she wound up homeless and currently lives on the streets.
- Her mother, Satsuki, left when Hazuki was still a baby. Hazuki can't really remember her, although she's heard stuff. Satsuki was a powerful witch, and Hazuki tries very hard to be like her (even though she doesn't know that much about what she was like). In particular, her clothes are patterned after old photos she's seen of her mother.
- Has a tendency to idolize anyone older than her, particularly if they're a witch/wizard/generally magical.
