Song of the Pearl
Wings of Darkness
More beautiful than a rose, more seductive than the moon
If you want that precious life, then force yourself to bloom in this hand
The door to the world of darkness will now open
Once again, leave everything to fate and be reborn. Now...
Close those eyelids of yours and find the masquerade in the middle of the night
Now, slip into darkness. Come! There's no reason to be afraid
And be there for eternity
The moment the suspiciously swaying wind escapes
I'll make you forget many things along with your pure devotional love
Let's engrave a new time into the world of darkness
It's okay not to worry about someone else and hurt your own heart
Close those eyelids of yours and find the voice coming from the future
Now, slip into darkness. Let me teach you of it as you become captured within my wings
And definitely you'll be there for eternity
Close those eyelids of yours
Now, slip into darkness..
Close those eyelids of yours and let your heart-filled matters be stolen away
Now, slip into darkness and in the midst of a riddle, late at night, feel my deep kiss
And become eternal
Close those eyelids of yours
Now, slip into darkness
Close those eyelids of yours
Now, slip into darkness...
(written description to come eventually, notes for now)
- Song is a sea siren, a seductress creature that entices men into falling in love with her (both with her looks and with her beautiful, otherworldly singing voice), before leading them underwater to kill them.
- Has no compassion for others whatsoever. She doesn't care about hurting other people's feelings or whatever; her main motivation is always "what can I get out of this situation? What can I get from this person?". She treats men as amusing toys.
- Song doesn't believe that love is a real thing. To her, the concept of "true love" is laughable; she sees "love" as an infatuation that she can use and exploit for her own purposes. She doesn't understand it when men tell her they're in love with her, the concept of spending your life with someone else; what does she have to offer them, other than her body? (Not that she's against that idea...) What do they get from this "love" other than fleeting pleasure? Essentially, she believes that 'love' is a just a lie people tell when they want something from the other person; that there's always some underlying, selfish reason behind it all.
- Has no interest in making friends. Doesn't care for most other girls, seeing them as "competition" (and also she just gets along better with guys... depending on what your definition of "gets along with" is, of course. -cough-).
- No matter what the situation is, no matter who she's with, Song always firmly believes that she is the one in charge. Even if things are very clearly not in her favour, she's still convinced that she's going to come out on top in the end. (...So to speak. *cough*)
- Attracted to long hair, although she'd never admit it. (She'd see that as a weakness. Although, it is possible she'd admit it if she felt it would work out in her favour to do so.)
- She tends to find 'victims' and kill them quickly. If they're not 'taking the bait', she'll get bored quickly and either kill them when they're distracted, or (more likely) just leave them alone and find someone else instead.
- Prideful, boastful (occasionally), selfish, malicious. Perverted. Violent.
- As said above, she's.... 'involved' with Xavier. When they first met, Song saw him as "just another victim"; Xavier, however, saw her as a useful tool that could retrieve an underwater artefact for him (she went along with this, cause hey, whatever gets him to stick around; also she thought it'd be an amusing diversion). The two entered into a duel of seduction, both trying to lure the other for their own purposes. In the end, Xavier lost the 'duel', falling head-over-heels in love with Song. At the end of their first meeting, Xavier left, promising to come back; Song figured he was just lying and that she'd never see him again. But he kept his promise, surprising Song, and they've been in an odd relationship ever since. Song still fully intends to kill Xavier, sometime, but there's something about him that intrigues her...
- her 'mermaid' form is her default (oh and btw, don't call her a mermaid, she hates them). After she's known Xavier for a while, he decides that, hey, it might be nice to have a girlfriend that has legs, and asks his witch friend Tracy if she can do anything about it. Song can now shift from siren to "anthro" form (I never know what to call it. Not human, because they're animal people. But anthro seems wrong too, since she's always anthropomorphized.. well, you get what I mean) at will, though she's unable to remain in anthro form if weakened (or if she falls ill, etc). She prefers her original form, but having legs has its uses, too~

stuff that I want to hang onto:
original colour concept for anthro Song - slightly inaccurate (her leg gradient shouldn't come up that high) so I'm linking to this to avoid confusion, otherwise I still like this + want it up here

Easy lover
She'll get a hold on you, believe it
Like no other
Before you know it, you'll be on your knees
She's an easy lover
She'll take your heart but you won't feel it
She's like no other
And I'm just tryin' to make you see
She's the kind of girl you dream of
Dream of keeping hold of
Better forget it
You'll never get it
She will play around and leave you
Leave you and deceive you
Better forget it
Oh, you'll regret it
No, you'll never change her, so leave it, leave it
Get out quick, cause seeing is believing
It's the only way
You'll ever know
She's an easy lover
She'll get a hold on you, believe it
Like no other
Before you know it, you'll be on your knees
She's an easy lover
She'll take your heart but you won't feel it
She's like no other
And I'm just tryin' to make you see
You're the one that wants to hold her
Hold her and control her
Better forget it
You'll never get it
For she'll say that there's no other
'Til she finds another
Better forget it
Ooh, you'll regret it
And don't try to change her, just leave it, leave it
You're not the only one, seeing is believing
It's the only way
You'll ever know, oh
Now don't try to change her, just leave it, leave it
You're not the only one, cause seeing is believing
It's the only way
You'll ever know
She's an easy lover (she's an easy lover)
She'll get a hold on you (get a hold on you), believe it
She's like no other
Before you know it, you'll be on your knees (you'll be down on your knees)
She's an easy lover
She'll take your heart but you won't feel it
She's like no other
And I'm just tryin' to make you see (tryin' to make you see, yeah)
She's an easy lover
She'll get a hold on you (get a hold on you), believe it
And like no other
Before you know it, you'll be on your knees (you'll be on your knees)
(Yeah, yeah, yeah)
She's an easy lover
She'll take your heart but you won't feel it (you won't feel it)
She's like no other
And I'm just tryin' to make you see (tryin' to make you see)
She's an easy lover
She'll get a hold on you, believe it
