It's Becoming Like We're Living Together
"Like.. um... I like girls, Giggles. Like.. like that. Not boys. I.. I'm, y'know, a lesbian." The pink wolf girl looked away, trying to avoid her friend's eyes. She expected her to be a bit surprised, if not outright shocked.
Instead, the cat girl flung her arms around the slightly taller girl. "Me too~!"
"W-what?" She wasn't really surprised by that - Giggles had always been somewhat clingy - it was what she had said that had caught her off-guard. "You're.. like.. you're gay, too?"
"Wellll, sorta." Giggles let go of Allie and leaned back, looking thoughtful. She apparently didn't notice that her friend had turned a slightly darker shade of pink. "I like boys, too. Does that count?"
Allie giggled slightly. "Then, you're like, bi."
"Bi?"
"Bisexual, I think I like, read it somewhere once. It means you like girls and boys. So, uhh.." Allie paused, trying to think how to ask her. "How did you.. y'know.. figure it out?"
There was a moment of awkward silence. She chanced a glance at the lilac cat sitting next to her. Her face was turned away, but it almost looked like she was.. blushing?
"Like, um, you don't have to tell me if you don't, y'know, want to. I totally understand, it's oka-"
"Well.. I realized I was looking at girls a bit more than I usually did. But.." Giggles turned to look at the wolf, smiling. "Mostly I was just looking at you, y'know?"
Allie's eyes widened. "Giggles.."
"Allie, I.. I think I love you." She leaned forward again, taking hold of the wolf's hands, her eyes shining. "You're my best friend, Allie, and I really like you.." Giggles closed her eyes happily, cocking her head to one side. "So how did you figure it out, anyways?" she asked, somewhat casually, as if she hadn't just confessed to her best friend since childhood.
"I.. Pretty much the same as you," Allie blurted out, her heart racing. She couldn't believe it, she had never expected this.. "I love you, Gi-"
She was cut off; Giggles had flung herself onto Allie, kissing her. For a few moments, they lay there, arms around each other, until the cat girl pulled away, breathless, her face flushed as she looked down at the other girl. "Allie.."
Allie didn't reply; she simply leaned up and kissed Giggles, one hand in her hair.
Some time passed before they spoke again; it was Allie who spoke first. "So, like.. are we.. y'know.. Are we dating now? I mean.." She glanced down at Giggles, who was lying on her stomach next to Allie, her head resting on her arms as she looked up at the wolf. "Do you, y'know, want to be my girlfriend?"
She half-expected Giggles to cling onto her again, but instead she sat up, her eyes shining again. "I'd love to be your girlfriend!" she replied.
Allie smiled; then, an idea occurred to her. She rested her hand on one knee, using the other to untie the long, black ribbon she had tied around her wrist as something of a bracelet.
"What are you doing..?" Giggles asked, watching her curiously.
"Lean forward."
The cat did so; Allie tied the ribbon carefully around her neck, in something of a bow. "Like, you can prolly tie it better later, but.."
"You're.. giving me this?" Giggles' eyes widened as she raised one hand, gently touching the ribbon, apparently in awe. "Thank you~!" she said a second later, hugging Allie. She pulled away a few seconds later, realizing something. "Oh, I should give you something, too!" She looked around, evidently trying to find something.
"It's just a ribbon, you don't need to.." Allie said quietly. She knew that Giggles didn't have a lot of money, since her parents had disappeared a while ago. She didn't really know exactly what had happened (Giggles had been somewhat vague with the details), but she didn't want to make her feel bad. "Like, it's okay, really."
"Then.." Giggles turned back to look at the wolf, a catlike smile on her face. "I'll guess just have to give you my heart~."
"That sounds like a fair trade to me," she replied, her expression soft as she reached out and pulled Giggles closer, gazing into her eyes as they kissed once more.
