(Written description coming eventually, notes for now.)

- Gynoid/robot. She was created by Falderal and Malachai, two scientists that worked at Becquerel
Labs.
- Younger half-brother is Nettle. (Okay, "technically" they're not siblings, since.. you know, they're robots. But they were made by the same scientist[s], and they consider themselves siblings, so close enough.)
- Very mismatched, patchwork appearance. The scientists that created her had very different ideas/visions, and thus argued constantly during her creation. Falderal wanted to make a lifelike, organic android (well, gynoid, whatever. Actually, it was Malachai who brought up the subject of what gender their robot should be; Fal was indifferent/hadn't thought about it ["It's a robot, it can't HAVE a gender, its insides will be wires.." "Well, yeah, biologically.."]. They decided Cattail's gender through a cointoss, hahaha), whereas Malachai wanted to make an outlandish, thoroughly impractical robot (think like something from an 80s mecha anime). They would work on her together while sniping at one another, or sneak back and add stuff to her when the other wasn't there. Eventually, Falderal had had enough of it, and left shortly after Cattail was activated. This kind of.... "broke" Malachai. He was never the same after Fal left.
- Her right arm is a broken, useless stump; it broke off soon after she was first activated (like, within a minute or two). This was kind of the 'final straw' for Falderal; he'd been against it from the start, particularly since Malachai had gone behind his back and added it when he wasn't around (and this was *after* they'd argued about it and Fal had insisted it would be "wildly impractical" and would be more of a hindrance to her than anything). It never got reattached or replaced, and since Malachai is dead now, she's basically stuck with it (or.. without it? The odds of her getting her arm replaced seem pretty low, there we go. She's stuck with the stump, is what I mean). Cattail's trenchcoat was given to her by Malachai specifically to cover up her broken arm; he felt terrible about it every time he saw it (since it was his fault, and a big part of why Falderal left) and didn't want to think about it (any more than he already did, I mean).
- Malachai projected onto her (and Nettle, to a slightly lesser extent) a LOT after Falderal left. He told Cattail over and over that she had to look after Nettle, she had to keep him safe, they always had to stay together. She didn't really understand why he was telling her this (she doesn't.. really have empathy or that kind of stuff, she can't help it), but she took the basic essence of his words ("look after Nettle") to heart. After Malachai died, Cattail ran away from the lab along with Nettle, and they've been wandering together ever since.
- Cattail doesn't entirely understand what happened between the scientists. She vaguely remembers Falderal, and she understands that he left and that upset Malachai very much, but she doesn't really understand why. (Similarly, she doesn't completely understand the concept of death, but she is aware that Malachai isn't coming back.)
- Very, VERY protective of Nettle. She was told to look after him and goddamn it, that's what she's going to do. I dunno if you could exactly say that she *loves* him (y'know, the whole "can robots have feelings like that"/"can they have 'genuine', non-constructed emotions at all" thing), but she DOES care about him in some way; she's not just blindly following orders or anything like that. She is in part acting off what she was told to do, but she does also naturally want to look out for him now, too.
- Has no idea how to interact with people, also has no idea of societal norms or how people are "supposed" to act, dress, etc. Oh, and she has no concept of gender/sexuality/etc, either. She considers herself female because that's what she was created to be, but she doesn't really understand the distinction between male/female, etc. (If that makes sense. To be fair, literally the only distinction between her and Nettle is that Cattail's chest is curved/raised.. otherwise they're the same, lol.)

Original concept drawings (note to self, try and rescan the last three sometime, they look like shit):

(First pic of Cattail as Cattail. Why is she singing "Footloose"? I dunno. I assume I was listening to while drawing.)

(Random, idle doodle that I eventually brought back and turned into Cattail. Proto-Cattail, if you will.)
