I have a Gumbie Cat in mind, her name is Jennyanydots:
Her coat is of the tabby kind, with tiger stripes and leopard spots
All day she sits upon the stair or on the step or on the mat:
She sits and sits and sits and sits - and that's what makes a Gumbie Cat!
That's what makes a Gumbie Cat.

But...
When the day's hustle and bustle is done,
Then the Gumbie Cat's work is but hardly begun.
And when all the family's in bed and asleep,
She tucks up her skirts to the basement to creep.
She is deeply concerned with the ways of the mice

Their behaviour's not good and their manners not nice:
So when she has got them lined up on the matting
She teaches them

Music, crocheting and tatting

I have a Gumbie Cat in mind, her name is Jennyanydots:
Her equal would be hard to find, she likes the warm and sunny spots
All day she sits beside the hearth or on the bed or on my hat:
She sits and sits and sits and sits - and that's what makes a Gumbie Cat!
That's what makes a Gumbie Cat.

But...
When the day's hustle and bustle is done,
Then the Gumbie Cat's work is but hardly begun.
And she finds that the mice will not ever keep quiet;
She is sure it is due to
irregular diet

And believing that nothing is done without trying
She sets right to work with her baking and frying
She makes them a mouse-cake of bread and dried peas

And a beautiful fry of lean bacon and cheese.

[scat solo]

I have a Gumbie Cat in mind, her name is
Jennyanydots:
The curtain-cord she likes to wind and tie it into sailor knots.
She sits upon the window sill or anything that's smooth and flat:
She sits and sits and sits and sits - and that's what makes a Gumbie Cat!
That's what makes a Gumbie Cat.

But...
When the day's hustle and bustle is done
Then the Gumbie Cat's work is but hardly begun
She thinks that the cockroaches
need employment
To prevent them from idle and wanton destroyment

So she's formed, from that lot of disorderly louts,
A troop of well disciplined helpful boy-scouts

With a purpose in life and a good deed to do
And she's even created a beetles "tattoo".

["Beetles' Tattoo" dance solo]

So for old Gumbie cats let us now give three cheers
On whom well-ordered households depend, it appears,
Three cheers, three cheers, three cheers!

For she's a jolly good fellow!

Thank you my dears!

Notes

First off - yes, the liner notes for the London CD only list Bombalurina and Jellylorum as part of the "Gumbie Trio". I'm not sure if this is an error or not - it sounds to *me* like there could be another singer singing that just.. didn't get listed... but I could be wrong, of course. (Also - the Australian CD didn't list who sings what song, so I had to guess.)
There have been several variations on the "Beetles' Tattoo" dance solo over the years. I'm particularly fond of the early London versions, which had Quaxo participate in a dance off against Jennyanydots :) The 2014 London revival had different choreography and music; it was pretty impressive and quite fun to watch (unlike the other alterations they made..), although it ended a little abruptly, as I recall.

The 2016 Broadway version further altered the tap solo, including the surrounding lyrics. First, the lyrics following the "curtain cord" verse were changed to the following:
But...
When the day's hustle and bustle is done
Then the Gumbie Cat's work is but hardly begun

She finds that the mice will -

Never keep quiet
She is sure it is due to -
Irregular diet!
She thinks that the cockroaches just need employment
To prevent them from idle and wanton destroyment
Provided they each know the job they must do -
She also allows them their fun and games too!

...followed by a revised tap solo (can't call it a "Beetles' Tattoo" since this version didn't use that line :P), featuring newly arranged music by John Clancy in addition to the original score, and new choreography. At the climax of the solo, the trio sing:

When the day's hustle and bustle is done
Then the Gumbie Cat's work is but hardly begun

...leading back into the original score/latter half of the tap solo. An alarm clock rings, the song finishes as usual ("thank you, my dears!"), and Munkustrap sings "Yes, Jellicles ask, because Jellicles dare - who will it be?", the chorus echo "Who will it be?"... cue the Rum Tum Tugger appearing, singing "Yes, who will it be~!", thus leading into his own song.

These revisions were not used for the 2017 International tour; that stuck more closely to the pre-Palladium versions of the scene, though the choreography for the "Beetles' Tattoo" sequence was slightly revised - I'm unsure whether or not it is the same as the revised choreography used in 2014 Palladium run. There are probably other small variations on it between versions, too. Unfortunately, like some of the other dance solos, this sequence was shortened quite a bit in the video version (although not quite as much as "Mr. Mistoffelees" was); if parts of it seemed awkwardly edited to you, that's why. Sadly, like with "Mr. Mistoffelees", all of the CDs cut down the music for this part of the song, too - again, for time constraints.
Apparently some foreign (non-English) productions replace the brief strain of "Rule, Britannia!" with their own national anthem (/patriotic song); I believe the original Paris production was one such production.
