"Hey everyone, I found out where my parents keep their beer!"
Most of the group looked up at this, their faces showing either curiosity or excitement; one of them, a tiger, looked at the shrew boy, eager but somewhat sceptical. "Where is it, then?"
The shrew had barely started to hold out a plastic bag before it was snatched out of his hands by the other boy, who glanced into the bag for a second, checking the contents before turning his gaze to the others. "C'mon, who wants some?"
The alcohol was quickly distributed amongst the group of boys, the shrew apparently not minding that his thunder had been stolen. Most of them knocked their drinks back quickly, without hesitation; the exception was a thin, dark blue cat, taller than most of the other boys there, who was sitting by himself, staring at the drink in his hands without really seeing it, his eyes unfocused.
"What're you waiting for?"
He jumped slightly, pulled out of his reverie, then looked up at the tiger boy standing over him, smiling distractedly when he realized who it was. "Oh.. I dunno.."
The tiger sat down next to him, one arm draping itself over the cat's shoulders automatically, as the cat continued, stumbling over his words as if he barely knew what he was saying. "I can't.. really think strai-"
"Then don't think at all," the other interrupted, taking another sip of his drink, not looking at the cat.
"..'kay." It was easier not to think about things, that was true. Besides, he couldn't really concentrate on anything for long, not when he was in this dazed state of mind, anyway.
Several minutes passed in silence, the cat leaning more and more against the tiger as each second passed, until his head rested on the other's shirt. He was more-or-less lying down by now; he kept sliding down without even realizing.
Without warning, he suddenly started laughing.
"Hm?" The tiger looked down at him. "What are you-"
"I really love you! Have I ever told you that?!" He kept laughing, apparently unable to control himself. "'Cause I do! I love you so much!"
He sat up with surprising speed, turning to face the tiger and clinging onto him, still giggling weakly to himself. "I love you, Jun~"
"I forgot how much of a lightweight you are," Jun sighed, before trying and failing to pull the other boy away from him. "What's wrong with you, how are you this drunk already?"
The cat responded by hugging onto him harder, nuzzling into his shirt.
Jun paused, then put his free arm around the cat again. "Well, whatever."
