Hi! I'm Mew, and I'm a huge fan of the anime Ojamajo Doremi, particularly its vast library of music. Years ago, I decided I wanted to collect the Memorial CD Boxes released for the show, which are widely described as containing all the music for the show. After doing some more research, I found out that that's not the case, exactly. While they do have about 90% of what was previously released (plus some bonus tracks!), there's still quite a few tracks missing from them. So I set out to collect all the stuff I was missing. While doing this, I kept lists of what did/didn't make it onto the CD Boxes, that sort of thing... Eventually I decided to make a page for it, instead of juggling several text files, and then I thought, hey! Maybe other people could find this helpful, too.

So, what you see below are four tables containing the track listings for the Memorial CD Boxes (plus two tables covering the CDs released after the Memorial CD Boxes, i.e. Naisho, OD16 drama CDs, etc), lists of the songs that didn't make it onto them, and notes on which CDs had which song, etc. Also production numbers for the various background music tracks, taken from the liner notes included with the CD Boxes. I've never seen these posted online, so I thought it'd be fun to share them.

I've uploaded most of the missing tracks to my YouTube account, and the CD Boxes themselves aren't too difficult to find (Google is your friend). Please don't email me asking for downloads or whatever. Of course, I do recommend buying the CDs where possible, but they're harder to find these days, since they've been out of print for 10-20 years (plus I acknowledge that not everyone is willing to go out of their way to buy a CD just for one track, lol). Anyway! On with the lists! :3

Notes
The titles for each disc are taken from the liner notes included with the CD Box. Disc four didn't have a title listed, probably because it has tracks from four different CDs (unlike the other discs, which only reprinted one CD each).

Only eight CDs were released for the first series, so they all fit neatly onto the four discs of the Memorial CD Box. Unlike the other CD Boxes, more-or-less everything that was released for this season made it onto the CD Box.

I say "more-or-less", because the Christmas CD is the exception. The original Ojamajo CD Club Vol. 7: MAHO-dou's Ojamajo Christmas Carnival!! CD, released in 1999, featured all five Christmas songs listed above, as well as a re-release of "Ojamajo Carnival!!". However, it also had in-character spoken introductions at the beginning of each track, plus an outro at the end of "Silent Night". For some reason, these weren't listed on the track listing, even though every other CD released with "Ojamajo Talk" segments like this listed them with the other tracks. (Another oddity: the intros/outros for the Xmas CD were tacked onto the tracks themselves - all CDs before and after this had the spoken segments as separate tracks, instead)
In 2001, a new Christmas CD was released, Ojamajo BAN² CD Club Part 10: MAHO-dou's Ojamajo BAN² Christmas Party!!. In addition to containing all-new songs and talk segments, this CD also contained re-releases of the five Christmas songs recorded for Carnival. These re-releases were exactly the same as the original release, except that the talk segments had been cut out.

Here's where things went a little awry: The Memorial CD Box uses the Motto masters for all of these songs, meaning that the talk segments have once again been omitted.

So to summarize: If you want the talk segments, look into getting the Carnival Christmas CD. (It's worth it; the talk bits are cute, and the CD art is absolutely precious.) If you're not bothered about them and are only interested in the music itself, the CD Box is all you need.

Oh, and for some reason, they didn't list a production number for the third part of "Mysterious Witch World" (disc 2, track 14). I'm not sure why. The production numbers for this CD are listed within huge chunks of text, rather than in the track listing like the other three CD Boxes, and I can't read Japanese. So it's possible there's some info listed for that track that I'm missing/unable to understand, that explains the lack of production number for that one. But yeah, that's why there's only two numbers listed for that one.

Notes
"Merokara" is short for "melody karaoke"; it refers to a karaoke track that has the melody of the vocals added to the base music. (If that explanation made no sense, just look up any of the songs that have both a "karaoke" and a "merokara" version and listen to them back-to-back, then you'll get it.)

For some reason (maybe something to do with how this season was entirely released by King Records, unlike the other four seasons?), the production numbers for this season are numbered separately to the others. Motto and Dokkaan's prod. nos are "M-3XX" and "M-4XX" respectively, so logically speaking, Sharp's should be "M-2XX", right? But nope, as you can see above, that's not the case. I dunno why that is. It doesn't really matter, anyway; I'm only noting it because this means that some tracks share production numbers with Carnival tracks. They're not the same music, they are different.

Speaking of - the CD Box liner notes didn't list production numbers for any of the # Movie soundtrack, nor "Onpu-chan's Theme - Solo Version" (disc 1, track 18) or "Ojamajo Power Up!" (disc 1, track 21). I'm not sure why this is. (The production number for "Mayuri's Love Theme" wasn't listed, either - it's listed in the liner notes for Ojamajo BAN² CD Club Part 4, though, that's where I got it from.)

Useless trivia: "Ojamajo Power Up! (Wreath Poron & Pop's New Poron)" (disc 1, track 21) is the only one of the Kururu Poron themes that was ever released on CD. Additionally, the final part of that track is a new arrangement of [part of] season one's Magical Stage theme, played on a trumpet (i.e. Pop's signature instrument). As far as I can tell, this was never actually used in the show itself.

And finally: no, I don't know why the soundtrack for the Motto movie wound up on this CD box, either. (Nor do I know why they swapped Aiko and Onpu's mini-dramas around...)

Despite fans often referring to it as an "unused song", "Himawari" actually has nothing to do with Ojamajo Doremi (apart from being the B-side to a Doremi song). It was used as an ending theme for Manami Komori's radio program, mami's RADIkaru Communication. So its omission from the CD Box is entirely understandable - there's no reason for it to be on there. (I'm only including it here for the sake of completeness.) Not sure why the off vocal of "Pop na Yuuki" was never re-released, though.

This is where things start to get tricky, CD-wise. Motto had a lot of re-releases, and it also had a LOT of music that didn't make it onto the Memorial CD Box. And also... well, as you'll see below, there were some weird decisions made for the Memorial CD Box in general...

First off! Disc 1, tracks 8 and 9. A fair amount of Carnival BGMs were released during the Motto era, some were reprints from earlier CDs, while others were stuff that hadn't been released before. Two of these Carnival BGM tracks then made it onto the Motto CD Box, for... whatever reason, even though most of the BGM included would later be released on the Carnival CD Box. For the record, the tracks not included on the Carnival CD Box are M-63, M-41, and M-13. Anyway, while it's true that some parts of those tracks were released on Carnival CDs, I chose to only list the relevant Motto CDs in the "previously released on" field, since they weren't released in this specific combination in the Carnival era.

Oh, and yeah, disc 3 has some Carnival BGMs, too. (Specifically, tracks 3 and 11; you can tell by the production numbers.) Their inclusion makes more sense, though - none of those tracks were released during the Carnival era, so none of them would be re-released on the Carnival CD Box. (actually, M-23 did make it onto the Carnival CD Box, but it was included as a bonus track along with a whole slew of other exclusive-to-the-CD-Box tracks, so.)

Neither the CD Box, nor Ojamajo BAN² CD Club Part 4, listed production numbers for "Opening (Long Version)" or "Erika's Piano Solo"; I suspect "Erika's Piano Solo" probably just doesn't have a production number (it was written for a specific scene, after all, it isn't standard background music made to be reused over and over), but I don't know why one wasn't listed for "Opening (Long Version)". Weird.

Now, "caramel (Original Karaoke)"... like I said, there's a lot of weird things going on with the Motto (and Dokkaan) CDs, and this might just be the weirdest. So first off, an instrumental version of this song wasn't actually released until the Dokkaan-era. Ojamajo DOKKA~N! CD Club Volume 4: Ojamajo DOKKA~N! BGM Collection Plus Alpha included three Motto karaoke tracks, "caramel" being one of them. The other two ("Honjama Ojamajo Daishuugou!!" and "Owaranai Monogatari") got reprinted on the Motto CD Box exactly as-is. But "caramel"... the version included on the Motto CD Box is a merokara! They added a piano melody over the base track. Now, why exactly this happened, I have absolutely no idea, it's completely baffling. But there you have it. Two similar-but-different tracks, both with the same name.

Now, the Christmas tracks... well, I partially explained this in the Carnival section above, but there's actually even more going on with them, if you can believe it.

So, let's start off with the Motto Christmas CD, Ojamajo BAN² CD Club Part 10: MAHO-dou's Ojamajo BAN² Christmas Party!!. That CD included four newly-recorded Christmas songs, "Oh! Yasai Samba" (why was this on here? Because it was the first non-character CD to be released since "Oh! Yasai Samba" debuted in the TV series, that's why) and 5 "Ojamajo Talk" segments interspersed between the tracks. It also included all five songs from the Ojamajo CD Club Vol. 7: MAHO-dou's Ojamajo Christmas Carnival!! CD (with their spoken intros/outros removed), as well as three karaoke tracks (which were never re-released). So far, so good.

Naturally, the new songs from this CD were then re-released on the Motto Memorial CD Box (again, apart from the karaoke tracks)... however, you may notice that the CD Box also reprinted "Jingle Bells" and "Here Comes Santa Claus", even though those weren't re-recorded for Motto. Why did they include Carnival tracks on the Motto Memorial CD Box? Because the track "Talk 2" that goes before those tracks introduces both songs, by name; I'm guessing they included them so as to avoid a continuity error. However, while "Here Comes Santa Claus" is exactly the same here as what's on the Motto Christmas CD (technically it's 10 seconds shorter on the Motto CD Box, but I'm pretty sure they just trimmed some dead air and maybe one or two seconds of jingling at the end; the actual song is untouched), the version of "Jingle Bells" that's on the Motto CD Box is not the same as either of the previous two releases. The original version of the song is 3:05; the Motto CD Box version is 1:46. As far as I can tell, they didn't re-record it, it was just digitally edited to cut the song in half. I'm guessing this was the only way they could fit all the tracks on the disc. Anyway, it doesn't really matter, since the full version of the song was released on the Carnival CD Box later.

Finally, for tracks from the Motto movie, please see the above section! For some reason, those got released on Sharp's CD Box instead (maybe they ran out of room on this one?).

Notes
Like with Motto, Dokkaan has a lot of songs (mostly karaoke versions) that were omitted from the CD Box, plus some other weirdness.

Neither the CD Box, nor the other CDs they were released on, listed production numbers for any of the accordion versions; it's possible they didn't even *have* production numbers to begin with.

For some reason, "Kitto Ashita Wa (Accordion Version)" was slightly edited for the CD Box. The original release of it, on Ojamajo DOKKA~N! CD Club Volume 8, included some in-character talking after the end of the song, an intro to the CD. The CD Box release removes this in-character chatter. The weird thing is that "Friends (Instrumental)" is the outro to the same CD... and the in-character talking was kept on that track, for the CD Box re-release. Yeah, I don't know what the logic was there, either. The song itself is the same between both releases, the only difference is the inclusion/lack of the spoken intro.

Disc 4, tracks 10-20 are drama CD tracks, they're not just exact re-releases of the named song. Also - you know how the Motto CD Box truncated one of the Christmas songs? Well, the same thing happened here, but on a much larger scale. On Ojamajo DOKKA~N! CD Club Volume 3, all songs are presented in full. Likely due to time constraints, tracks 11, 13, 14, 15, 17 and 18 had their songs truncated for the CD Box re-release. (Note that 10, 12, 16, 19 and 20 were not altered for the CD Box - those retained the full versions of their respective songs) This makes sense - 5/6 of those are re-releases in the first place (technically "Anata Oikake Jinsei Minato (Karaoke Echo Version)" is new, but it's just the same as the "Full Version" that's on disc 2 but with... well, karaoke echoes... so not a huge loss) - but it falls apart when you realize that the sixth truncated song, "MAHO de Cha-Cha-Cha (-2 Version)", was a new recording...! Not to mention how they chopped up "Omae ni Rock You!" despite the fact that they did not re-release that on the CD Box... and yet, track 12 ("Pirikapiri♥Lucky! (MAHO-dou Version)") was left intact despite the fact that that one was on the Motto CD Box... A huge mess all around, in other words. (To clarify, only the songs on those tracks were cut down. The narration parts were all left 100% intact on the CD Box.)

(Speaking of those songs - "MAHO de Cha-Cha-Cha (-2 Version)", only has Doremi, Hazuki, Aiko and Onpu singing [thus the "-2" in the title]; similarly, "Pirikapiri♥Lucky! (MAHO-dou Version)" does not have Hana-chan singing. "Watashi no Tsubasa (Cast Singing Version)" is sung by the cast of the CD Ojamajo DOKKA~N! As explained above, this one's complicated - the whole CD was re-released on the CD Box, but with the caveat that most of the songs were heavily truncated due to time restraints. This isn't a big deal with the other tracks - since they're all re-releases anyway, and the individual songs did all make it onto the CD Boxes (...except for "Omae ni Rock You!") - but it means the full versions of these two songs are exclusive to this CD. The narration parts were reproduced in full on the CD Box, as were shortened versions of the songs.

Notes
These were the only songs written for Naisho (it didn't have any original background music, at least as far as I'm aware), so this is Naisho's sole CD release. Two different versions of this single were released; a standard edition, and a special limited edition version. The CDs themselves were the same (AFAIK), but the limited version included a DVD with the "non-telop" (i.e. clean/creditless) versions of the opening and ending animations.

All the stuff released after the series itself ended, including the theatrical film Majo Minarai o Sagashite (aka Looking for Witch Apprentices or Looking for Magical Doremi).

Speaking of, yes, the movie's BGM uses the same numbering system that Carnival used. It probably goes without saying, but yes, they're all different tracks, no season one re-releases.

The titles I'm using for the light novel CDs are what's written on the discs themselves. When you insert those CDs into a computer, the metadata gives the album titles as Ojamajo Doremi 17 Drama CD Limited Edition Bonus CD (おジャ魔女どれみ17　ドラマCD付限定版付属CD), Ojamajo Doremi 17 CD Drama 2nd (おジャ魔女どれみ17CDドラマ第2弾) and Ojamajo Doremi 18 (おジャ魔女ドレミ18 - note that "Doremi" is written here as "ドレミ" rather than the correct "どれみ". ???? Everything else spelt it correctly, so idk what happened there), respectively.

Ojamajo Doremi 17 Limited Edition Bonus Drama CD is an adaptation of the first book in the series (Ojamajo Doremi 16), and Ojamajo Doremi 17 3rd ~COME ON!~ Limited Edition Bonus Drama CD loosely adapts the second (Ojamajo Doremi 16 Naive) and third (Ojamajo Doremi 16 TURNING POINT) books. I imagine the reason the second CD has such vague titles for its tracks is because it's adapting two books, whereas the first one is only adapting one and thus could just reuse the chapter titles from the original book. (Speaking of, the translations I'm using for the first CD's tracks are borrowed from Misa-chan's site.) Finally, Ojamajo Doremi 19 Limited Edition Bonus Drama CD is an adaptation of the eighth novel in the series, Ojamajo Doremi 18 2nd Spring has....

Despite the title, "Ojamajo Carnival!! (Ver.16)" is not a new recording - it's the original, TV-sized 1999 recording. I'm not sure why they gave it such a misleading title. (FWIW, the slipcover for the CD more accurately refers to it as simply "Ojamajo Carnival!!")

As for the second OD17 CD, its opening track is "Ojamajo de BAN² (TV Size)" - again, it's the original 2001 recording. Pedantic, nitpicky note: the slipcover writes the title as "おジャ魔女でBANX2" rather than "おジャ魔女でBAN²". Dunno why.

("Was there a song on the OD18 CD?" Yes; "Watashi no Tsubasa" plays at the beginning of track 7. It wasn't listed in the track listing, though it WAS listed on the slipcover.)

The Blu-Ray CDs were exclusively released with the limited edition versions of the Blu-Ray boxsets, and because of this, it's damn near impossible to find info for these CDs that's more specific than "they exist, and this is what they were released with". I did the best I could with what I was able to find (i.e. I ran their titles through Google Translate). Any help with translation for those CDs would be appreciated.
